In the workshop of <strong>PAL Robotics<\/strong>, a metal figure in human form stood up for the first time. That was the moment when <strong>REEM-A, the first bipedal humanoid robot developed entirely in Europe<\/strong>, was born a work of engineering and creativity conceived in Spain \ud83c\uddea\ud83c\udde6 ; the turning point that heralded the beginning of a new era.<\/p><p>This adventure began with the bold vision of a group of passionate engineers, some of whom were graduates of the <strong>Polytechnic University of Catalunya UPC<\/strong>. Their goal was clear: to improve people&#8217;s quality of life through service robotics.<\/p><p>After 14 months of hard work, <strong>REEM-A <\/strong>came to life. Within a year, she was walking, thinking, talking, playing chess, and recognizing faces. She even won the walking competition in Dubai and was a semifinalist in the penalty shootout.<\/p><p>Two years later, <strong>REEM-B<\/strong> arrived, a more agile, more robust robot with superior performance. It had voice recognition systems and sensors that allowed it to understand its surroundings and move around without obstacles. Here, <strong>PAL Robotics<\/strong> has established itself as a European leader in humanoid robotics.<\/p><p><strong>Dubai&#8217;s first police robot was a REEM<\/strong>, with a Spanish stamp. It was 1.70 m tall, had two arms, and legs with wheels. It spoke nine languages and interacted with people.\u00a0 It has been followed by other developments, such as:<\/p><p>\ud83d\udd38 REEM-C for research.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udd38 StockBot for inventory management<\/p><p>\ud83d\udd38 The great TALOS for industrial applications.<\/p><p>\ud83d\udd38 ARI for customer service.<\/p><p>From the outset, these robots were designed to serve society, <strong>businesses, museums, hospitals, airports<\/strong>, etc., to lighten workloads and interact with people.<\/p><p>Today, looking back, <strong>the first REEM <\/strong>is more than a robot; it is a &#8220;living&#8221; reminder that Spain propelled Europe into the future&#8230; leading it upright, standing tall, walking.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><h3><strong>At TECNIMUSA, we pay tribute to technological innovation.
